Dr. Ansel Johnson started his private practice in Blue Island, IL in 1990. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois Wesleyan University, and Doctorate degree from The New England College of Optometry in 1985. He completed a postgraduate certificate from the Optometry Executive Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has served as an adjunct professor for several optometry school programs and his office serves as an externship site for those programs as well. He served on the Optometry Board for the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation from 1999 to 2009. He serves on staff at Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Johnson’s office is the first and only in Illinois to incorporate a Nationally Certified Diabetes Self-Management Program within an eye care facility. He is a certified lifestyle coach for the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program. Dr. Johnson is also engaged in clinical trials
